Las Animas Homicide Suspect Arrested in Illinois

(January 23, 2018—CBI—Pueblo, CO)—*UPDATE* Robert Russell Inlow (DOB: 9/20/1973), wanted in connection with an alleged homicide in Las Animas, Colorado, was arrested by the US Marshals Service in Peoria, Illinois in the afternoon hours of January 23, 2018.
The circumstances surrounding the arrest are not available at this time; however, a nationwide bulletin had been issued for Inlow’s arrest. Inlow was taken into custody without incident.
Inlow faces allegations of first-degree murder in the homicide of his mother, Cheryl Gray, a 62-year-old Las Animas woman.
Gray (DOB: 11/25/1955) was found deceased in her home in the 600 block of St. Vrain Street in Las Animas when Bent County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the residence on a welfare check in the evening hours of January 22, 2018.
The case is being investigated by the Bent County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
By virtue of the arrest of Inlow in the State of Illinois, Colorado officials will be seeking the extradition of Inlow back to the State of Colorado where he will be facing charges. No scheduled court appearances have been set at this time.
