Violet Hazen…October 29, 1934 – November 26, 2017


Funeral Services for longtime Holly, Colorado resident, Violet Hazen will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Holly Colorado with Pastor Kathy Leathers officiating.  Interment will follow at the Holly Cemetery.  Visitation for Mrs. Hazen will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the funeral home.

Violet Olive (Harms) Hazen was born on October 29, 1934 in Holly, Colorado to August and Rosemena (Henson) Harms.  She departed this life at her home in Holly, Colorado on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the age of 83.

Violet was preceded in death by her father, August Harms; mother, Rosemena Harms; husband, Everett Hazen; brothers, Elmer Harms, Marvin Harms, and Edward Harms; and sisters, Betty Jensen and Shirley Snider.

She is survived by her five children, Dale (Erica) Hazen of Dublin, California, Jenet (Dave) Gardner of Leoti, Kansas, Rodney (Brenda) Hazen of Holly, Colorado, Jeanne Scott of Holly, Colorado, and Ricky (Lyrene) Hazen; 19 grandchildren, Sundown (Jen) Hazen, Mardalena Smith, Sky (Talia) Hazen, Dakodah Hazen, Thunder Hazen, Lytning Hazen, Rayn Hazen, Terry Gardner, Melissa (Randall) Bland, Benjamin (Misty) Gardner, Tonia (Johnny) Meese, Austin Hazen, Waylon Hazen, Doug (Natalie) Davis, Zach (Kara) Davis, Crystal (Jeff) Flint, Jeanne (Caleb) Smith-White, Ashley Fetters, and Cory (Victoria) Hazen; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Albert (Betty) Harms and Richard (Susan) Harms; and 2 sisters, Beulah Deshazer and Wilma (James) Cannon. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
