LPD Citizen Academy Begins April 6th

The Lamar Police Department is accepting applications to attend the 2017 Citizen Academy, which will be instructed by members of the Lamar Police Department, Prowers County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Lamar Fire Department. The Academy will begin on April 6, 2017.
The training will give the citizens of Lamar a general understanding of the daily duties performed by local first responders. Citizens will attend class each Thursday from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. The Academy will be seven weeks with a final all-day session at the firearms range, a BBQ, and rappelling at Pike’s Tower. The all-day session will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017.
Applications are being accepted until March 31, 2017. The class size is limited to twenty participants. Individuals who are interested must be 18 years old and be able to pass a background check.
