Lamar City Sales Tax Revenue Report

Sales tax revenue for the City of Lamar showed a slight slump for December 2016 Sales and Use tax, collected in January. Although City Sales Tax revenue was up 4.04%, Use Tax was down 40.18% for a drop of $23,566 compared to last year. The 4.04% gain of $13,702 for the same time was offset by the drop in Use Tax. Total Sales was off $9,063 for the beginning of the year at $400,420 compared to $409,498 for the previous period. Year-to-date figures are identical for the start of 2017.
The year to year comparisons of 12 retail trade categories also showed some declines between 2015 and 2017 for the beginning of the year.
