This award is presented annually to honor an individual that has made a substantial contribution to the Prowers County area. The nominees must have exhibited leadership in community projects and be involved in civic activities that benefit the community.

Nominees may be involved in health or human services, education, recreation, arts or cultural improvement, economic development or community-based organizations which contribute to the quality of life of our community. Nominees should have specific and noteworthy accomplishments. The criteria to be considered in presenting a name include: purpose, leadership, community involvement and cooperation and support. The person’s profession, position and company of employment as well as a biographical sketch is required.

In addition to the Citizen of the Year Award, the Chamber is looking for nominations for our 2nd Annual Business of the Year Award. We are also looking for nominations from businesses to recognize their outstanding employees. Businesses and managers are asked to submit the names of these employees that go above and beyond, and deserve recognition. These individuals will be announced at the Annual Banquet and presented with a certificate.
