David Ray Jaramillo was born on January 30, 1958 in Las Animas, Colorado to Efren “Freddie” and Mary Ann (Martinez) Jaramillo and the Lord called him home on November 23, 2016 also in Las Animas, Colorado at the age of 58.

As a young man, David went to live in Grand Junction, Colorado where he worked for the Rainbo bread company. He then moved to Liberal, Kansas where he was first employed by National Beef, followed by the Liberal School District, where he remained for 12 years. He later worked in the construction industry until he became ill. On September 3, 1994, David married his childhood friend, Cecelia “Cece” Duran. David and Cece moved back to Las Animas in 1998, calling it their home to this date. Despite his illness, David continued to do odd jobs around the community, instilling in his family his great work ethic. He would tell his children and grandchildren, “There is always work to be found, you just have to look!” David fought a good fight, not letting his illness prevent him from doing what he enjoyed. He liked fishing, playing basketball, baseball, riding his bicycle, and walking around town.  He will be greatly missed, and we his family, will pray for his soul, until we meet again.
