Toys for Tots in Action Starting November 7th

Toys for Tots will begin their annual holiday campaign in Prowers County on Monday, November 7^th.  They will be headquartered at the Car Palace on North Main Street from 6pm to 9pm, Monday through Thursday until Christmas Eve.

Darlene Lopez is asking donors to be sure the toys they donate are clean and in good working condition. A lot of time, she said, is spent sorting through toys that won’t work or are too dirty to attempt to clean.

Toys for ages newborn to 16 years for boys and girls are welcome as well as simple cash donations. Volunteers should call 719-688-0167.  There will be other times and days for extra work once the holiday season moves into full swing.

Everyone, please remember to save any unwrapped soaps or unused shampoo bottles from motels you have visited recently as they are used as stocking stuffer gifts. Toys may be taken anytime to Paul’s Body Shop at 7345 Highway 50 and cash donations may be mailed to Darlene Lopez, 1208 South 5^th Street in Lamar.  Drop off boxes for gifts will be set up the week of November 7^th and you can call 688-0167 if you would like a box at your location.
