Deloris Jones…August 28, 1926 – August 12, 2016

Graveside services for Holly, Colorado resident, Deloris N. Jones will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Sunny Slope Cemetery in Bristol, Colorado.

Deloris (Heitz) Jones was born on August 28, 1926 in Moundville, Missouri to Samuel and Charlottie (Smith) Heitz.  She passed away August 12, 2016 at the Walsh Health Care Center in Walsh, Colorado at the age of 89.

Deloris was united in marriage to Billy D. Jones on January 26, 1946 in Columbus, Kansas.  This marriage was blessed with four children.  Deloris took great pride in being a mother and a homemaker.  She was a 4-H leader for many years and served on several women’s organizations in Bristol.  Deloris was a member of the Bristol Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by four children, Linda Kay Marples and husband, Bill of Lamar, Colorado, Carl Jones and wife, Cindy of Granada, Colorado, Susan Lucius and husband, Larry of Holly, Colorado, and Gail Bowen and husband, John of Rocky Ford, Colorado; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.

Deloris is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy D. Jones in June 2013; brother, Sam Heitz; an infant brother in 1924; and two granddaughters, Stacy Marples and Lucinda Jones.
