BIG ELECTION DEADLINE:

• Tuesday, May 31, 2016 is the last day for voters who are affiliated with a political party to change or withdraw political party affiliation if they wish to vote in a different party’s primary election for the upcoming June 28, 2016 Primary Mail Ballot Election.

Register or make your corrections on line at www.govotecolorado.com or stop by the Prowers County Clerk’s Office.

Unaffiliated voters can affiliate with a party and vote in the June 28, 2016 Primary Election by completing and returning an Affiliation Declaration/Notice  which will be sent out through the mail (next week) or by going to the Clerk’s Office, or online at www.govotecolorado.com .  In order to mail you a ballot, we need to receive the Affiliation Declaration/Notice by June 20, 2016.  If after June 20^th, you may come to our office and pick up your ballot through Election Day, June 28, 2016.

REMEMBER: Prowers County Clerk will have a ballot box placed on the table right at the front of the security entrance for your convenience to drop your voted ballot in.   

2016 Election Dates:  Colorado is an All Mail Ballot Delivery State.  Voters with an Active Status Record will receive their Official Ballot in the mail for ALL Elections and must be affiliated with a specific party for this Primary election.

May 31, 2016, Tuesday: Last day for voters who are affiliated with a political party to change or withdraw their affiliation if they wish to vote in a different party’s primary election. 

June 6 – June 10, 2016: Ballots for the Primary Election will be mailed to active affiliated voters during this week.

Saturday, June 25, 2016:  Prowers County Clerk’s Office will be open 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for return of mail-in ballots; issue replacement ballots; register to vote; update address; update name; cast a ballot or vote a provisional ballot only.  No motor vehicle transactions will be open for business this day.

Primary Election Day:  Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Unaffiliated Voters need to affiliate and can do so either before or on Election Day.

General Election: Tuesday, November 8, 2016.
