Official and New Parade Route for Lamar Days

To the Businesses and Community of Lamar,

Editor’s Note: This is the route agreed upon for the Lamar Chamber of Commerce following an earlier meeting with the Lamar Police Department.

After much thought and consideration, The Lamar Chamber of Commerce has  decided to take our Lamar Days Parade down a different route this year.

The route will end at Willow Creek Park where most of the excitement is scheduled to occur. We will  start at our normal locations on East Olive Street by Big R, Safeway and the Rancher’s Supply area.

The floats and entries will head west on East Olive Street/Highway 50 and turn south onto 2^nd Street and proceed to Cedar Street turning west and onto Parkview ending at Highland Street where the parade will conclude and wrap around to Forrest Street to offload animals and pick up participants.

We have decided to move the parade this year due to road construction and the issues it causes for CDOT.  This will be our route until the By-Pass is complete. We hope many of you will follow us to Willow Creek Park for our Fantastic Rod Run Car Show put on by Ron and Lonna Cook, and also to visit the many vendors we have set up in the park for your enjoyment.
