The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is resuming work on the highway construction project on U.S. 50 both East and West of Granada in Prowers County. Work on this project consists of the replacement of three structures, detour pavement, embankment, asphalt removal, guardrail, topsoil, seeding and mulching, signing and striping, and erosion control. Dondlinger Construction is the contractor for this project.

Project Schedule and Information:

Work began again on March 1, 2016 and is expected to last until summer, 2016. Normal working hours will be from 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday thru Friday.  In special cases these hours may be extended.

There will be a single lane closure on US 50 at the BNSF site from MP 455.52 – 456.28 (approximately 3 miles East of Granada) around the clock from May 2 until early June. There will be flaggers in place at all times to direct traffic.

Additionally, CR EE will be fully closed from US 50 to CR 28 from May 2 through the end of June. There will not be detour signs in place for this closure. The speed limit will be reduced during working hours to 45 MHP, and there will be a 12 foot width restriction through the work site.
