Barbara Ruth (Lane) Thompson – July 25, 1933 – August 15, 2026

Funeral Services for Holly, Colorado resident, Barbara Thompson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 21, 2026 at Holly Methodist Church in Holly, Colorado with Pastor Kathy Leathers officiating.  Interment will follow in the Holly Cemetery.

Visitation for Barbara will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Valley Funeral & Cremation in Holly.

Barbara Ruth (Lane) Thompson passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, at her home in Holly, Colorado, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 93.

Barbara was born on July 25, 1933, in Erin Springs, Oklahoma, to Curtis and Flossie (Robbins) Lane. On April 15, 1951, she was united in marriage to Floyd Nels Thompson in Raton, New Mexico. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Rod, Ron, and DeAnn.

Family was at the heart of Barbara’s life. She found great joy in attending her children’s and grandchildren’s many activities and was always proud to support them in all they pursued. Her presence, encouragement, and love created countless cherished memories for her family.

Barbara enjoyed playing cards and spending time with friends and family. She was an active and dedicated member of her community and belonged to the Holly Methodist Church and Mizpah Rebekah Lodge #97. She served as the treasurer for the Gateway Fair for 19 years and was an active member of SOS in both Holly and Lamar.

Barbara and Floyd also enjoyed traveling and were members of the Sagebrush Sam’s Camping Club. Through their travels, they visited 49 different states, creating many wonderful memories and adventures along the way.

Barbara will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her involvement in her community, her love of travel and fellowship, and the many lives she touched throughout her long and meaningful life.

Barbara is survived by her children, Rod (Keo) Thompson and DeAnn (Bob) Parker all of Holly, Colorado; grandchildren, Laith Thompson, Brae Medina, ReLeana Conway, Brad Parker, Trevor Parker, Reese Thompson, Brandi Thompson; great grandchildren, Aspen Medina, Kaiden and Avery Thompson, Reatta, Dally, and Dusty Conway, Jaedyn Parker, Lillian, Joleen, and Mari Ann Parker, Emma, Chelsea, Olivia, Eli, and Anna Thompson, Halli Thompson, and Bravon Kraft; many other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Thompson; son, Ronald Thompson; sister, Marie Hoover; brother, Ray Lane; and great grandchildren, Avery, Gabriel, and Ezra Thompson.
