Dixie Bitner is recipient of Prowers County Farm Bureau Scholarship for 2026

Prowers County Farm Bureau is pleased to announce the recipient of its scholarship for high school seniors in Prowers County.

To be eligible for the scholarships, high school seniors completed an application and submitted it to the Prowers County Farm Bureau. In the application, the seniors included a list of their hobbies, organizations that they belonged to, and awards or recognition that they have received. They were also asked to describe their future goals and write an essay of at least 100 words describing what they feel is good and bad about agriculture in the United States. The essay also included a description of how they could improve agriculture in the future.

Receiving the $1,000 scholarship from Prowers County Farm Bureau is Dixie Bitner of Wiley . Dixie attends Wiley High School. Dixie has been active in student government and is serving as head girl this year. She is co-president of FBLA and a member of the National Honor Society. During her high school career at Wiley, Dixie has participated in softball, wrestling, baseball, track, basketball, cheerleading, volleyball, and football.

Dixie has received an academic letter all four of her high school years. Dixie plans to attend Missouri Valley College this fall majoring in Psychology.
