Peter Paul Ybarra – June 29, 1948 – December 15, 2025

Peter Paul Ybarra, 77, a lifelong resident of Great Bend, Kansas, passed away at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, on the evening of Monday, December 15, 2025. Peter was born on June 29, 1948, in Big Bend, Colorado, to Stanislaus and Guadalupe Ybarra. He attended schools in the Great Bend area and was united in marriage to Wanda Sue Scheuerman on December 30, 1975, in Miami, Oklahoma.

Peter is survived by four sons: Shawn Ybarra and Shannon Ybarra, both of Great Bend, Kansas; Eric Ybarra of Wichita, Kansas; and Stan Ybarra of Bentley, Kansas. He is also survived by one daughter, Mistina Wilson of Bentley, Kansas; one stepson, Ricky Staab of Great Bend, Kansas; and numerous grandchildren. Other survivors include three brothers: Stan (Rita) Ybarra and Tony Ybarra, both of Lamar, Colorado; and Louis Ybarra of Slaton, Texas; and five sisters: Annette (Felix) Castro of Lubbock, Texas; Mary De La Virgen and JoAnn (Uriel) Esquivel, both of Lamar, Colorado; Isabel Amador of Great Bend, Kansas; and Fay Campos of Manassas, Virginia. Peter was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Stanley Ybarra; an infant son, Clayton Ybarra; his wife, Wanda Ybarra; sister-in-law, Evie Ybarra, and brothers-in-law, Stephan Campos and Raymond Amador.

Cremation has been chosen. No memorial services are planned at this time.
