Juanita Marie Gonzales (Janie) – June 25, 1950 – May 15, 2025

A Mass of Christian Burial for longtime Lamar resident Juanita Marie Gonzales ( Janie) will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Saint Francis De Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lamar, Co with Reverend Leo Ayuyao , S.S.S.

Juanita was born June 25, 1950 in Lamar CO and passed away on May 15, 2025 in Pueblo, CO with family by her side.

Janie is the 6th child of 10 kids, preceded in death by parents Guadalupe and Delfina Duarte, husband Napoleon Gonzales, son Luis Alfred Duarte, step-daughter Donna Gonzales, brothers Trinidad and Jimmie, and her sister Margarita.

Juanita is survived by her daughter Gail Duarte (Angel ) Lubbock, Texas, granddaughter Robin Young (Scott) Wichita, Kansas, and her fur baby Charlie. She is also survived by siblings Daniel, Virginia, Lidia, Delfina, Joseph, and Nancy, cousins, nephews, nieces, several step- grandchildren, and a host of friends.

She raised her children and stepchildren along with her husband in Granada, Colorado.

Janie will be remembered by her beautiful mind, her heart of gold, and her spirit so full of light, but truth be told, it was her love that was contagious. She was a kid at heart.

She consistently helped others and brightened their lives. She loved baking for her friends and family. Her dog Charlie brought immense joy and warmth into her life. Their time together was a precious gift. Janie was a true fan of the Seattle Seahawks.

We will forever cherish the memories we made with her.

Flowers can be delivered at the church.
