CSP Investigates Injury Crash for Lamar Resident

 

The Colorado State Patrol responded to a one vehicle injury crash that occurred Thursday, August 6, 2020 on Colorado Highway 50, at approximately milepost 408 .

A gray 2002 Ford Explorer was driven by William Elliott, from Lamar, Colorado. The Ford Explorer was east bound at approximately mile marker 408 when it drove off the left side of the highway and struck an embankment causing the vehicle to go airborne.

The Ford Explorer was airborne for 99 feet prior to striking the ground with the front end of the pickup, causing heavy front-end damage and air bag deployment. The Ford continued 128 feet and came to final rest on its wheels facing east in the field. The driver, William Elliott, was medically cleared on scene with no injuries. The front seat passenger, Arita Elliott of Lamar, Colorado, was transported to Prowers Medical center by ambulance, where she was treated for a fractured vertebra.
