City of Lamar Sales Tax Report

 

 

 

City of Lamar Sales Tax revenue for October, collected in November showed a gain of 11.88% this year over 2018 for a net of $31,393. Total Sales and Use Tax collections were also up 6.57% for a gain of $19,102 over the previous year. Collections in 2018 was $290,705 compared to 2019 at $309,807.

Year to date collections did not keep up the pace as well with City Sales Tax revenues gaining 0.31% for a net gain of $9,976 and Total Sales and Use Tax collections fell behind, dropping 2.27% from the year before for a loss of $81,257. Total Collections in 2018 was $3,585,261 compared to this year at $3,504,004.

The 12 retail sales tax revenue categories were split in performance over the past three years, with gains noted this year in Apparel and Department Stores, Hotels and Motels and Restaurants, while there was a shortfall for Building Materials, All Business/Electricity and Grocery Stores.
