Train Depot Award Ceremony

The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Passenger Depot will be recognized Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the Lamar Welcome Center (109 E Beech St, Lamar, CO 81052) as a result of its listing on the National Registration of Historic Places.

A plaque will be presented at the Train Depot on behalf of Colorado Office of Archaeology & Historic Preservation (OAHP) and History Colorado at 5pm followed by a State Preservation Plan public meeting from 6pm-8pm.

The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Passenger Depot was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 19th, 2019.

The Train Depot joins properties such as the US Post Office-Lamar Main, Willow Creek Park, Davies Hotel-Payne Hotel, Prowers County Court House, and many others in being designated on the National Register.
