City of Lamar Sales Tax Revenue for August, 2019

 

 

City of Lamar Sales Tax revenue collected in August, 2019 showed a 5.56% gain over last year for an increase of $15,521.12 for a total of $294,738, compared to $279,217 for 2018. Use Tax was down 29.13% for a drop of $8,323 and Total Sales and Use Tax collections were up 2.40% for an increase of $7,395 for the year.  2019 revenue was $315,533 for August while 2018 was $308,138.

Year to Date collections were off 1.77% for 2019 for a drop of $46,959. YTD collections were $2,611,535 for 2019 with 2018 at $2,658,494.  Use Tax collections were off 25.22% for a loss of $73,949.  Total Sales and Use Tax collections as of August 2019, Year to Date, were down 4.12 for a loss of $122,290.  Total collections for 2019 are at $2,847,783 compared to 2018 of $2,970,073.

The twelve retail trade categories showed a decrease in five areas including: Building Materials, Apparel and Department Stores, C-Stores and Gas, All Business-Electricity and Liquor Sales.  Restaurants showed a gain.
