Sarah A. Muniz…August 30, 1931 – September 16, 2019

Mass of Christian Burial for Sarah Muniz will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Las Animas, Colorado with Father Henry Wertin officiating.  Rosary/Scripture Service will be held prior to Mass at 9:30 a.m. also at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Fort Lyon National Cemetery.

Sarah Abdulla Muniz was born August 30, 1931 in Brawley, California to John and Juanita (Chavez) Abdulla.  Sarah was their first daughter of three daughters along with two older brothers and two younger brothers. She passed away in Colorado Springs, Colorado on September 16, 2019 at the age of 88.

Sarah is survived by her children, David (Carrie) Muniz, Michael (Theresa) Muniz, Christopher (Rebecca) Muniz, Nathan Muniz, and Diana (Phil) Shaufler; 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Juanita Abdulla; first husband, Chris Muniz; second husband, Harold McKinney; brothers, Esmile Abdulla, Allie and wife, Lucy Abdulla, Albert Abdulla, and John and wife, Sharon Abdulla; and sister Carmen.
