Kenneth Lee Neugebauer, affectionately known as Kenny, passed away on August 14, 2019 in Holly, CO at the age of 64. Kenny was born to Henry W. Neugebauer also known as “Hank” and Edna Mae J. Neugebauer on May 23, 1955. He grew up in Holly, Colorado on the family farm and enjoyed wrestling and football. When Kenny graduated, he received a scholarship to Panhandle State University to play football as a middle line-backer. He soon realized he was a bit to small compared to the other boys. He ended up moving back home to help run the family farm and soon decided rodeoing was a better choice. One of his greatest moments during his rodeo career was riding a bull named “Hippie” who was known for bucking most guys off, but Kenny was able to make a high point ride. He enjoyed music, dancing, playing pool and playing cards with his family and friends.
In 1980 he married Danna Brown and was married to her for 17 years. Together they raised five children, Bucky, Kasey, Cassidy, Kole, and Kendra. He enjoyed watching the kids play sports and telling everyone how proud he was of them.
Kenny then met Shirley Hickman Razey and moved to Lamar, Colorado. They were married for a few years and later divorced but remained good friends.
Kenny remained in Lamar and continued his life working at Colorado Beef until he retired. He was well known at the Senior Center as the “pool shark”. He will be remembered by his contagious laugh and numerous jokes.
He will be missed and loved by many.
Kenny is survived by his brothers, Merle (Desiree) Neugebauer, Earl Neugebauer; sons, Kole (Chelsea) Neugebauer, Cassidy (Angelica) Neugebauer, Kasey Neugebauer, Daryl Buck Blanchard; daughter, Kendra Neugebauer; sister-in-law, Wilma Neugebauer; and 9 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hank and Edna Mae Neugebauer; sister, Linda Parker; and brothers, Gilbert Neugebauer and Gale Neugebauer.
