Court Date for Alleged Tailgate Shooter

A pre-trial conference has been set for Tuesday, July 2nd for 32 year old Reyes Hernandez who was arrested on various charges stemming from an alleged shooting incident at the Lamar Walmart parking lot, Sunday, June 16th. An advisement hearing was held Monday, June 17th.
The arrest affidavit states Hernandez shot at Frederico Lira adjacent to Camino De Santa Fe Street on the west side of Walmart. One round from a pistol was fired into the tailgate of the truck driven by Lira. Hernandez was arrested in the parking lot. The pistol, a 9mm Glock, was recovered from Hernandez’s brother’s house.
Hernandez was arrested on criminal attempted murder in the first degree, criminal attempted murder in the second degree, criminal attempt-first degree assault, illegal discharge of a firearm, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, possession of a defaced firearm and unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon.
Hernandez is currently in probation until December 2020 from another case. He is being held on no bond.

5/3/2018 12:00:00 AM 21:52 1802466 SANGER, STEVE Officers responded to the 600 blk of East Olive Street to a person with a gun claiming to be chased. Officers investigated and found Reyes Hernandez (31) menacing others and also trespassed without permission in the 500 block of East Hickory Street. Hernandez is being held on $12,000 Bond on Felony Menacing and Trespassing in the 3rd degree.
