Lamar April, 2019 Sales Tax Revenue Report

 

 

Sales Tax revenues were off for the City of Lamar for March Sales and Use Tax collected in April, 2019. City Sales Tax was down 7.15% for a drop of $22,180 while Total Sales and Use Tax collections were down 8.42% for a loss of $29,268.  Sales Tax collections were at $288,187 for 2019 while total taxes collected for the year were at $318,270.  Use Tax collections were off 19.45% for a drop of $6,790.

Year-to-Date collections were down 6.29% for City Sales Tax reflecting a decrease of $77,378 for the year, comparing 2018 at $1,229,986 to $1,152,608 for 2019. Total Sales and Use Tax collections dropped 11.10% for a decrease of $157,262.  2018 collections were $1,417,190 and were at $1,259,926 for 2019.

The 12 retail categories showed a sharp decrease in All Business/Electricity, Building Materials and C Stores and Gas Sales, comparing 2018 to 2019, while Restaurants showed an increase.
