Myron Don Larsen passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018. His body finally gave out and liberated his troubled mind.
Born in SLC on July 30, 1956, Myron had a happy childhood travelling with the family to Texas, Germany, Hawaii, Georgia and Japan. After graduating from High School in Camp Zama, Japan, Myron moved to Atlanta, GA where he joined the U.S. Army. During his stressful tenure in the army, Myron became schizophrenic. Despite his psychiatric condition, Myron related well to those around him. He was a real gentleman, always polite and generous and never complained about ailments which would arise. He became very excited whenever family was coming to see him and would ask to go to dinner somewhere or fishing at Lake Hasty. He loved his breakfasts at Village Inn in La Junta.
Myron has been under the care of several care centers administered under the V.A. We would especially like to thank the doctors and personnel at the V.A. Hospital in Denver CO, Prairie View Care Center in Las Animas and the Bent County HealthCare Center, also in Las Animas. Myron loved all of his friends in Las Animas and La Junta and will be missed greatly.
Preceded in death by his parents, Lowell Don and Roswitha Erika Larsen. Survived by brother Rolf (Lucinda) Larsen, sisters Kristine (Bryan) Parrish and Denise (Alan) Tribble and four nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service for family at the Salt Lake City Cemetery on September 15 at 1:00 PM.
