Lamar City Sales Tax Revenue Report

The new year is starting on a high note for Lamar’s City Sales Tax Revenue report, perhaps continuing the trend of increases that closed out 2017. November City Sales Tax collected in December 2017 showed an 11.65% gain for an increase of $28,920 over the same time period last year. Collections for 2016 were $248,205 compared to last years of $277,125. Use Tax collections were up 66.79% for a jump in revenue of $13,016 between 2016 and 2017 and Total Sales and Use Tax collections were up 15.75% for a gain of $42,177 over the previous year, with 2016 collections at $267,716 and 2017 at $309,893.
Year-to-Date City Sales Tax collections were up 4.84% for a difference of $157,757 between 2016 and 2017 and Total Sales Tax and Use Tax collections were up 4.36% for a gain of $156,294 over the previous year. Collections for Total Sales, Year-to-Date for 2016 were $3,588,045 and were $3,744,340 for 2017. Vendor’s Commissions were $104,583 for 2016 and $112,900 for 2017.
