MEDIA RELEASE – Prowers Clerk and Recorder
ELECTION NEWS: Ballots will start arriving in mailboxes the week of October 16th – 20th for the Coordinated Election, November 7, 2017. Ballots will be sent to all active registered voters. If you do not receive a ballot or you are not sure about your voter registration information, contact the Clerk and Recorder’s Office at 719-336-8011 or you can also check your voter registration information online at: www.govotecolorado.com.
If you have moved and didn’t update your voter registration you could be inactive at this time. Inactive voters will not automatically get a ballot in the mail for this election. Please call the County Clerks office for information regarding your voting status or again you can go on line to: www.govotecolorado.com for more information.
What will be on this November 7, 2017, Coordinated Election’s Mail Ballot?
- City of Lamar: Candidates for Mayor, Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3, and Ballot Issue 2A
- Wiley School District RE-13JT Director Candidates for: School Board Directors
- Lamar School District RE-2 Director Candidates for: Districts A, B, C, E, G
- Holly School District RE-3 Director Candidates for: School Board Directors
- IMPORTANT DATES FOR 2017 COORDINATED ELECTION:
- Monday, October 16-20, 2017: Ballots will be mailed to all active eligible electors. Also made available 24/7, is our drive by/walk up ballot drop box in the east entrance of the courthouse parking lot.
Monday, October 30, 2017: Last day for voters to submit a new voter registration application to register to receive a ballot by mail for the Coordinated Election.
- Monday, October 30, 2017: First day Voter Service & Polling Center will be open, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., M-F, for ballot replacements, and address changes, etc.
- Saturday, November 4, 2017: County Clerk’s Office will be open to return ballots, issue replacement ballots, register to vote, and address changes during 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, November 7, 2017: ELECTION DAY (Prowers County Clerk’s Office is open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (No other polling place locations will be available.)
- Return mail ballots, with appropriate postage or hand deliver to: Prowers County Clerk’s Office, 301 S. Main St., Ste. 210, Lamar, CO 81052.
- Post mark dates do not count if ballot is received after November 7, 2017.
