A celebration of life is set for 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 28, 2017 for native of Grand Junction, Robert (Bob) Carpenter at the Crosswinds Church of the Nazarene with Reverend David Ralph officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar.
Visitation for Bob will be held for Monday, February 27, 2017 from 3:00PM until 5:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Bob was born born May 28, 1919 at Grand Junction, Colorado to Glen Nicholas and Lulu Maude (Platte) Carpenter and departed this life on February 11, 2017 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan, Colorado at the age of 97. He was married to Evelyn Tracy, also from Junction in 1939. Bob spent over 70 years preaching the gospel of holiness.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Lulu Carpenter, three brothers, Carol, Melvin and Jack Carpenter.
Bob is survived by his wife of 77 years, Evelyn Carpenter of Fort Morgan, CO; sons, Raymond (Jo) Carpenter of Menifee, CA and Marvin Glen Carpenter of Lamar, daughters, Marilyn (Cecil) Tombelson of Lamar and Martha Lou (Don) Snider of Fort Morgan, CO, eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
