End of Summer Tax Dip for Lamar

The City of Lamar monthly sales tax report showed a slight drop of 3.47% for this past August, down $9,186 compared to the same time last year. Collections in 2015 were $264,784 and were at $255,597 for this past August, collected in September.  Total Sales and Use Tax collections posted a very slight loss of 0.46% for a drop of $1,322.  The combined taxes for this period last year were $286,776 and were at $285,453 for this past month.

Taxes fared better on a year-to-date scale with City Sales Tax up 1.70% and Total Sales and Use Tax collections up 3.99%. This marks a gain of $105,185 for this year, compared to the same time in 2015.  Total YTD collections for 2015 were at $2,633,862 and were at $2,739,047 for the current assessment.
