SE Colorado Well-Represented in State Science Fair

New-LCC-LOGO(Lamar, Colorado; April 20, 2016) The Colorado Science and Engineering Fair (CSEF) was held April 7-9, 2016. 25 area students represented the Southeast Regional Science Fair at CSEF, with students from grades 6-12 displaying 24 projects. These students competed for cash awards, scholarships, and recognition among the top budding scientists in the country.

CSEF Grand Awards winners included: Shannon Bland from Lamar High School in Senior Division Earth and Space Sciences, Chase Cromwell from Lamar Middle School in Junior Division Engineering, the team of Ashley Gilmore and Sage Higbee from Lamar Middle School in Junior Division Engineering, and Braxton O’Bryan from Alta Vista Charter School in Junior Division Plant Sciences.

Many students also brought home special awards presented by sponsors, colleges and industry organizations including: Wayttyn Wollert of Wiley Schools; Hayli Mackey of Springfield Junior High School; Breana Sinclair, Ashley Gilmore and Sage Higbee all of Lamar Middle School; Shannon Bland of Lamar High School; and Rochelle Casey, Rylan McCall, Dylan Renquist, Justin Wright, and Tyree Jones of Walsh Schools.
