Sheila Victoria Koury…December 26, 1922 – March 26, 2016

Funeral Services for Sheila Koury will be held at Fort Lyon National Cemetery on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Keric Sullivan officiating.

Sheila Victoria Koury was born on December 26, 1922 to Rueben and Violet (Innes) More in Manitoba, Canada and passed away on March 26, 2016 in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 93.

Sheila graduated from the Toronto Conservatory of Music and the moved to Western Kansas, where she met her husband, Sam Albert Koury. Sam and Sheila were very well known all over Southwest Kansas and Eastern Colorado for their amazing musical talents, thanks to their countless performances at dances throughout the areas. Sheila was best known for her piano lessons, teaching hundreds of students to play over the years.

Sheila is survived by her son, Samuel (Meghan) Koury; grandson, Max Koury all of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rueben and Violet More; husband, Sam A. Koury; and sister, Ruby Higgins.
