Lena L. Bellomy – November 27, 1938 – October 24, 2026

A Celebration of life for longtime Lamar resident, Lena L. Bellomy will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, October 30, 2026 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Scott Muller and Luke Muller co-officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery in the Veterans Section.

Per Lena’s request there will be no visitation.

Lena was born on November 27, 1938 at Las Animas, Colorado to Emory E. and Alice A. (Meader) Thomas and passed away on October 24, 2026 with her family by her side at the age of 87 at The Legacy in Lamar.

She is preceded in death by her husband James “Jim” Bellomy, her parents and her siblings Charlene Johnston, Lorna Wilkinson, Lenna Howerton, Donna Stoker, Joyce Byers, Betty Yergert and David Meader.

Lena is survived by her children Rhonda (Mark) Tevis of Olympia, WA, Brenda (Kim) McGee Brighton, CO, James (Cheryl) Bellomy of Savannah, GA and Janet (Scott) Muller of Riverton, WY, twenty-one grandchildren and thirty-nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Mollie Doyle of Sante Fe, NM and Sylvia (Chuck) Bourne of Pueblo West, CO as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Prowers County Rural Fire Department and/or the Casas por Cristo at the Lamar Christian Church either direct or in care of the funeral home office.

Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
