Douglas Watson Shake – November 8, 1941 – July 28, 2026

A graveside memorial service for longtime Colorado Springs resident Douglas Shake will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 14, 2026 at the Fairmount Cemetery in the Veteran’s Section with full Military Honors under the auspices of the Local V.F.W. and American Legion Posts. 

Douglas was born on November 08, 1941 at Staten Island, New York to Albert J. and Thelma Frances (Bush) Shake and passed away on July 28, 2026 at the age of 84 with his family by his side at the Penrose Hospital. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Mary Ann Sullivan and Albert Lee Shake.

Douglas is survived by his wife Frankie Shake (formerly Light) of the family home in Colorado Springs, CO, children Larna Shake and Rebecca (Paul) Dunbar. He is also survived by his grandson Peter Douglas and his brothers Donald Alexander Shake and Bruce Allen (Sally) Shake of Oak Lawn, IL as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Samaritans Purse either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
