Lamar Police Department press release for Jade Downey arrest

 

After a year long investigation by the Lamar Police Department, Jade Immett Downey was arrested on July 15, 2026, on the following charges:

Enticement of a Child                                                     18-3-305(1)                           F4

Sexual Assault on a Child                                               18-3-405(1)                           F4

Stalking                                                                           18-3-602(1)(c)                       F5

Internet Luring of a Child                                               18-3-306(1)                           F5

Disclosure of a Private Image for Harassment               18-7-107(1)(a)                       M1

2nd Degree Trespassing                                                   18-4-503(1)(a)(b)                  PO

Violation of a Restraining Order                                    18-6-803.5(1)(a)(I)                M1

Mr. Downey is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.

The Lamar Police Department would like to remind the public that there is no statute of limitations on most sex offenses, and anyone who may have information related to Mr. Downey’s crimes are encouraged to reach out to Detective Kemp, either through dispatch at 719-336-3977 or email at branden.kemp@ci.lamar.co.us.

We want to thank the Rocky Ford Police Department and the Otero County Sheriff’s Office for their quick response in executing the warrant.

The charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
