City of Lamar organizing community parade entry for Colorado State Fair

Calling all businesses, organizations, schools, clubs, nonprofits, churches, civic groups, and community partners!

The City of Lamar is organizing a unified community entry for the 2026 Colorado State Fair Parade, and we invite you and your organization to be part of this exciting celebration.

On at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 29, 2026, communities from across Colorado will gather in Pueblo for the Colorado State Fair Parade. The City of Lamar will be participating as a City of Lamar Parade Group, allowing all participating entries to march together and create a powerful, coordinated presence that showcases the very best of our community.

Our Theme:  The Pride of Lamar: Celebrating 140 Years of Pride, Progress, and Opportunity

This year’s parade provides a unique opportunity to celebrate several historic milestones:

•  250 Years of the United States
•  150 Years of the State of Colorado
•  140 Years of the City of Lamar

With so much history to commemorate and so much to be proud of, we want Lamar’s presence to be bigger, stronger, and more memorable than ever.

Imagine a parade entry stretching down the route… filled with colorful floats, decorated vehicles, community organizations, students, businesses, performers, volunteers, and local leaders… all proudly representing Lamar under a single banner. Together, we can showcase the spirit, history, accomplishments, and bright future of our community on one of Colorado’s largest public stages.

Whether your organization would like to participate with a float, decorated vehicle, walking group, performance team, community display, or another creative idea, we would be honored to include you in this community-wide celebration.
