Carrie Esquibel-Venegas – February 25, 1969 – June 1, 2026


A mass of Christian burial for lifelong Granada, Colorado resident, Carrie Esquibel-Venegas, will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at the St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Holly with Reverend Father Boniface Onjefu as celebrant. A rosary service will be held prior to the mass at 9:30AM at the church with Deacon Allan Medina reciting. Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Granada, Colorado. Per Carrie’s request there will be no visitation.

Carrie was born on February 25, 1969 at Lamar, Colorado to Severo “Shorty” and Stella (Duarte) Esquibel and passed away on June 1, 2026 at her home in Granada, Colorado at the age of 57 with her family by her side.

She is preceded in death by her father, Severo “Shorty” Esquibel and infant sister Laura Esquibel. Carrie is survived by her husband, Freddy Venegas of the family home in Granada, CO, children David (Amelia) Vigil of Pueblo, CO, Damian (Gabriela Gonzalez) Vigil of Granada, CO, Gabriel (Elizabeth Handy) Vigil of Colorado Springs, CO, Talia (Nicholas) Pacheco of Granada, CO and Vincent Venegas of Granada, CO, grandchildren Adilynn Vigil, Taiden Vigil, Paisley Vigil, Enrique Vigil, Madelyn Vigil, Anakin Pacheco, Joaquin Vigil, Olivia Vigil and Enzo Vigil and her mother Stella Esquibel of Granada, CO. She is also survived by her brothers, Eric (Joyce Aranda) Esquibel of Lakin, KS and Jonathan Esquibel of Granada, CO as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Carrie Esquibel Venegas Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
