Zonta Club of Prowers County sponsors Lamar Days Royalty, presents student awards and installs new Board of Directors

Lamar Days King and Queen Ron and Lonna Cook driven by Isaiah Felan

The Zonta Club of Prowers County has been active recently.  They sponsor the Lamar Days Royalty each year, driving the King and Queen in the Lamar Days parade.  At this year’s parade on May 16, King and Queen Ron and Lonna Cook were featured in a convertible driven by Isaiah Felan, accompanied by his brother Chris Felan.  The Felan family own and operate AM Breakfast House in Lamar.

At the Zonta Club’s monthly meeting May 12, 2026, awards were presented to several local students.  Receiving the LCC Award was Jaeli Jaime.  The Beverly Augustine Award was given to Aracely Rodriguez.  Open Awards were given to Lexi Shotten and Jozlynn Isom, while the Young Women in Leadership Award winner was Kara Wilson.

The New Board of Directors was installed at the meeting as well.  President: Cody Laughlin.  First VP: Susan Sutphin.  Second VP: Danielle Cook.  Directors: Linda Hawkins and Lorraine Wooley.  Treasurer: Jane Felter.  Secretary: June Wolfe.
