Frances Jean Brown, 85, passed away on April 11, 2026, in Las Animas, CO. Born on October 23,
1940, in Clarksburg, WV. Frances graduated from Indiana High School, Indiana, PA before
dedicating two years of honorable service to the US Air Force.

Following her military tenure, Frances embarked on a diverse career path. She worked as a
waitress from 1968 to 1979, a role in which she was well-known for her warm and engaging
service. Later, she pursued a career in healthcare, serving as a Certified Nurse Aide at Bent
County Health Center, Las Animas, CO from 2001 until her retirement in 2016. Her dedication to
nursing was driven by a deep compassion for others and a commitment to providing excellent
care.

Frances was an adventurous spirit, passionate about scuba diving and used her 30-foot cabin
cruiser for treasure hunting. These hobbies allowed her to explore the mysteries of the deep
sea and discover hidden treasures, activities that brought her immense joy and excitement.
She is survived by her children, Stephen, Pamela, Richard, and Christy. She has 12 grandchildren
and 24 great grandchildren.

Frances’s life was marked by her service to her country, her care for her patients, and the love
for her family. Her adventurous spirit and nurturing nature will be fondly remembered by all
who knew her.
