The Lamar Elks Lodge, #1319, recently contributed $5,000 towards the Lamar Community College Rodeo Committee. The donation, according to LCC Foundation director, Anne-Marie Crampton, will be used for separate $1,000 scholarships for five students. The presentation was made this past Tuesday, March 28th at the Elks Lodge in Lamar.
“There are several programs of study this donation will be applied to,” Crampton explained. This includes agriculture, the college’s equine program for Horse Training & Management, welding and athletics. Students must be enrolled in these programs in order to qualify. Incoming or continuing full-time students may apply up to June 30, 2017, according to the college’s scholarship website.
