Maria Teresa (Maldonado) Pizano, affectionately known as Teresa, was born on May 30, 1953 in Urireo
Guanajuato, Mexico to Antonio and Antonia (Lara) Maldonado. She passed away at her home,
surrounded by her family, on March 19, 2026 at the age of 72.
Teresa lived a life rooted in love, faith, and selfless devotion to others. She dedicated almost 30 years to
caring for the elderly in the nursing home, offering compassion and comfort to those she served. Her
nurturing spirit extended far beyond her work, as she poured her heart into caring for her family in
every way possible.
A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Teresa found her greatest joy in the time she
spent surrounded by those she loved. She especially cherished large family gatherings, where her
warmth and laughter filled the room. As an amazing cook, she brought people together through meals
made with love, creating traditions and memories that will be treasured for years to come. Teresa also found peace and happiness in tending to her garden and collecting birdhouses, simple pleasures that reflected her appreciation for beauty and life’s quiet moments. Her faith was the foundation of her life; as a devoted follower of Christ, she faithfully attended St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church and lived out her beliefs through kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.
Teresa is survived by her parents, Antonio Maldonado and Antonia Lara; her devoted husband of 54
years, Anthony Pizano; children, Teresa (Joseph) Smith, Jesse Pizano, Marco Pizano, Diana (Eric)
Ruggiero, and Suzie (Nigel) Mitchell; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; six brothers and
four sisters; many other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Carmen Maldonado.
