Lamar’s Monthly Sales Tax Revenue is Up, YTD is Still Trending Low

Total Sales and Use Tax collections for The City of Lamar for June sales, collected in July, were up 5% for a $15,955 gain over the same time last year. 2016 collections for June were at $318,878 compared to 2017 with $334,833. City Sales Tax collections for the same period were up 5.34% showing a gain of $15,952 with 2017 monthly collections at $314,737 and 2016 with $298,784.
Year to Date collections noted a slight gain, 0.44% for June 2017, which translated to a gain of $8,589 for total collections. June 2017 posted $1,947,403 while 2016 posted $1,938,814. Total Sales and Use Tax collections for the same period were off 1.76% with June at $2,124,343 for 2017 and $2,162,454 for 2016.
