162400 12/01/2016 50 HWY HOLLY•DUI – ALCOHOL

Comments: Deputy T. Dunagan of the Prowers County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 37000 block of Hwy 50 on a vehicle that had made several violations in the 100 block of East Colorado in Holly. Deputy found the driver to have open alcoholic containers as well as open marijuana containers in the vehicle. James Christopher, 33, of Ulysses KS was arrested on DUI. Christopher was transported to the Prowers County Jail where he is being held on a $10,000 Bond.

162392 11/30/2016 US HWY 50 – LOCAL-MISDEMEANOR

Comments: Sgt. Rodriguez contacted David J. Camacho, 45 from Texas, for speeding within a construction zone in the 23000 blk of Hwy 50. Camacho was arrested on three warrants totaling $5,000 in bonds. Camacho was also cited speeding in a construction zone and driving while suspended.

Comments: Deputy E Rodriguez served a temporary restraining order on a male juvenile party at the 700 Blk South 7th Street in Lamar.

162396 11/30/2016 12000 BLK OF HWY – ASSIST OTHER AGENCY

Comments: Deputy Freouf was notified of possible drug trafficking traveling through Prowers County. Deputies contacted the vehicle and found a large amount of packaged marijuana. The incident was turned over to the investigating agency for their active investigation.

162358 11/23/2016 MM 434 HWY 50 LAMAR – ASSIST OTHER AGENCY

Comments: Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 50 MM434 to a report of traffic accident involving a bicycle and a vehicle. No serious injuries were involved in the accident. Deputies assisted Colorado State Patrol with the investigation.

162362 11/25/2016 3RD ST & CHEYENNE ST HOLLY- CRIMINAL TRAFFIC VIOLATION

Comments: Deputy T. Dunagan of the Prowers County Sheriff’s Office while on routine patrol in the city of Holly conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Colorado and 3rd. The driver Rodolfo Pizarro of Holly was found to be driving with a revoked driver’s license. Pizarro was issued a summons on scene and a licensed driver came for the vehicle.

Comments: Deputies responded to the 29000 blk of County Rd 22.5 on a report of a medical call. Deputies assisted EMS personnel with CPR and attempted to revive the victim. The subject was later determined to be deceased and matter was investigated by the corners office.

Comments: Deputy Ibarra responded to the 500 Blk of North 1st A ve in Holly on a report of a person with a possible gun. Deputy was informed all the parties left prior to their arrival.

Comments: Deputy T. Dunagan of the Prowers County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a possible sexual assault on a child in the Lamar A rea. Report was taken, case is on going.

162369 11/27/2016 6TH ST & COLORADO ST HOLLY- AMPHETAMINE, POSSESSION

Comments: Deputy T. Dunagan of the Prowers County Sheriff’s Office while on routine patrol in the town of Holly, C O conducted a traffic stop in the area of 6th and Colorado. Deputy arrested Joshua Whisenand, 33 ,of Holly for driving without a license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Whisenand was transported to the Prowers County Jail where he is being held on a $4,000 bond.

162371 11/27/2016 (PROWERS COUNTY JAIL) – MENTAL SUBJECT

Comments: Deputies responded to the Prowers County Jail on a report of an attempted suicide. Deputy was informed the inmate was transported to PMC and later evaluated by mental health.

Lamar Police Department’s Report

 

In the early morning hours of November 26, 2016 officers from the Lamar Police Department located several vehicles and residences which were vandalized with offensive graffiti in the Mayhew Drive area. Officers were also advised of several businesses which had windows broken in the general area of the vandalized vehicles and residences.  Officers and detectives are actively working the case to develop leads.  Any crime which is committed within the City of Lamar is not tolerated and will be investigated until a suspect is arrested and/or all leads are exhausted.  If anybody has information regarding the suspects responsible for causing the damage, please contact the Lamar Police Department at (719) 336-4341 or call the Tips line at 719-336-1435.
