September Renewal Cards
The Prowers County Clerk & Recorder’s Office has just received notice from the Colorado Department Revenue, Motor Vehicles, Titles and Registration Section, that our September Renewal Cards, which have already been printed and sent out by the State of Colorado, encountered an error in the newly implemented software system which impacted motor vehicle renewal cards for thirteen counties. Prowers County is one of the thirteen counties impacted. The renewal card system has dropped the last two digits off the printing of the amount due. For example, $105.05 would have been printed as $105. The State has taken preventative steps to avoid this moving forward and that corrected renewal cards have been printed and will be mailed by August 15, 2016. Prowers County Citizens will be receiving a second renewal card in the mail from the State of Colorado with the correct totals. If you do not have the corrected renewal card at the time of your renewal the total amount listed on the motor vehicle computer system is what will be due.
I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. If you have any questions, please contact our office at 336-8011 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
