Kay Ricken…August 15, 1935 – September 26, 2017

 

A Mass of Christian Burial for Kay Ricken will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Las Animas, CO with Rosary beginning at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in La Junta, CO.  Father Henry Wertin will officiate. Per Kay’s request there will be no visitation.

Kay was born on August 15, 1935 to Carl Porter and Avis (Roberts) Ritter. She graduated from La Junta High School in 1953. She married Bernard Leroy “Lee” Ricken on May 23, 1953. Kay enjoyed her children and grandchildren, music, reading, and cats. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Las Animas, CO. Kay passed away in Pueblo, CO on September 26, 2017 at the age of 82.

She is survived by her husband, Lee Ricken of Las Animas, CO; Daughter, Mary Beth (Roger) Leal of Firestone, CO; sons, Gary (Debbie

Shaw) Ricken of Sterling, CO; Doug (Missy) Ricken of Las Animas, CO; sisters, Janice Matthew of Pueblo, CO; Cindy Steele of La Junta, CO; brother, Carl Birch Ritter of La Junta, CO; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Gregory Lee Ricken; and grandson, Andrew Charles Ricken.
