F J. Denning…February 17, 1918 – September 14, 2017

 

A mass of Christian burial for longtime Lamar resident, F. J. Denning will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Henry Wertin as celebrant.  A rosary service will be held at the church on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. with Stan Ybarra reciting. Interment will follow the mass at the Fairmount Cemetery in the Veteran’s Section with full Military honors under the auspices of the local V.F.W. and American Legion Posts.

Visitation for F.J. will be held… from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the Peacock Family Chapel.

F.J. was born on February 17, 1918 at Ellis, Kansas to Michael and Pauline (Basgall) Denning and passed away at the age of 99 on September 14, 2017 at his home in Lamar with his family by his side.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Denning, son, Lenny Denning, his parents, sons-in-law, L. Kenneth Brown and Ron Trumble, five brothers and two sisters. F.J. is survived by his daughters, Pauline (Dallas) Glover of Wellington, KS; Joann Trumble, Mary Alice Henry both of Lamar, CO; Darlene Brown of Coolidge, KS;  Jane (Brett Jones) Brewer of Colleyville, TX and daughter-in-law Joni Denning of Dumas, TX,  grandchildren Gayle Grubbs, Mark Glover, Curt Glover, Jeff Glover, Mike Trumble, Scott Trumble, Kenny Trumble, Jill (Trumble) Williams, Jana Weimer, Ronnie Brown, Katie (Denning) Johnson, Karli (Denning) Gribble, and Chris Robertson.   Also survived by twenty four great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
