Hester Ann Nunnery…August 28, 1934 – February 16, 2017

Funeral services were will be held at 10:30am MST Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Lamar with Reverend Darren Stroh officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar.

Hester graduated from Lamar High School and went to work as a Telephone Operator. She later moved to Garden City and was the Group Chief Operator.  She worked for Southwestern Bell for 18 years in Lamar and Garden City.  After her marriage she moved to Chicago where she also worked for a Telephone Company.   She and her husband then moved to Lafayette, Colorado.  After retiring they moved to Canon City, back to Lamar for 10 years and then to Garden City in 2014.  She enjoyed fishing, hunting, her many pets, trips to casinos & being involved with her Grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her Father- Archie Sallee, Mother- Martha Landreth, infant son- Thomas Irwin, Brother- Tom Sallee & Sister- Elizabeth Jones.

Survivors:
Husband, John Nunnery ,  Home;   7 Children- Cindy Stinemetz- Garden City;  George Irwin-  Garden City;  Mike Irwin- Garden City;  Steve Nunnery- Firestone, Colorado; Chris Nunnery- Phoenix, Arizona;  Marty Nunnery – Chicago, Illinois; Scott Nunnery- Broomfield, Colorado; 11 Grandchildren,  9 Great-Grandchildren and  4 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
