The annual Fall Jam at the Buzzard’s Roost in Lamar attracted a Saturday night crowd this past weekend along West Hickory and North Main Streets. Several bands entertained through the afternoon and evening out on the parking lot that had been roped off from regular traffic for the annual event. The September Road Jam was billed as 12 hours of live music, food and fun.
Each year, Jay Gruber, owner of the Roost, hosts a day and night of music, featuring various bands, outdoor vendors and charitable raffles, including a chance to win a Classic 1966 Mustang to benefit the Lamar Area Hospice. The drawing for the Mustang is set for October 27.
Two Jams were held at the Buzzard’s Roost this year, one was in 100+ degree heat this past summer and this past weekend’s weather was considerably more comfortable, in the mid to upper 80s. The music was hot and the beer was cold.
